Charles University was founded in 1348, making it one of the oldest universities in the world. It is renowned as one of the most modern, dynamic, cosmopolitan and prestigious institution of higher education in Central Europe. It offers an innovative approach to education, outstanding research and lively student community, with nearly 50,000 students enrolled at the University - almost 25,000 in master’s programmes.

The Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism (ICSJ) at the Faculty of Social Sciences hosts Mundusians in Prague. ICSJ offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs in marketing communication and PR, media studies and journalism. At ICSJ, you will receive a firm grounding in theory but also get numerous opportunities to become involved in various practical projects.

The aim of ICSJ is to create a productive environment for education, student life and research. Its research activities within public and media communication, focusses on a wide variety of topics from the history of the press and relations between mass media and the political, economic and cultural context of society to artificial intelligence in journalism.

As ICSJ is situated in the very heart of the city, it offers the most beautiful view on Prague Castle and the Vltava River and it serves as a great getaway to explore the city and its hidden treasures.

Prague, the City of a Hundred Spires

With its 1.3 million inhabitants, Prague the largest city in the Czech Republic. The city has several major museums, numerous theatres, galleries, cinemas and other historical exhibits.

Well-known for its historical heritage, cosmopolitan environment and bustling nightlife, Prague is also home to several universities making it a perfect place for international students and culture exchange. It is considered a safe and very affordable city with a vibrant cultural scene. Public transport connects the city; it is well-organised, cheap, and gets commuters anywhere in the city within 40 minutes.
