First joint degree awarded in London

A unique new degree-awarding format has been introduced for Multimedia Business Reporting graduates at City University.

The certificate, given to the latest Mundus Journalism graduates in London earlier this month, recognises both City University and Aarhus University as award-issuing institutions for our international programme.

It's the first year the London cohort of students have been able to receive a joint degree as opposed to individual certificates from each university, City being the second institution, after the University of Amsterdam, to award Mundus Journalism graduate certificates in this format.

Erasmus Mundus Master's City University programme director, Dr Neil Thurman, says he was delighted to see students receive their joint degree certificate at the award ceremony.

"This was a fantastic achievement marking their success in this unique degree programme. That we can now award a truly joint degree is the culmination of ten years' work with our international partners, in particular Aarhus University, Denmark."
