Alumnus produces Emmy nominated Netflix doco

A looming thesis deadline, several trips around Europe while studying abroad and a stop over in Italy have - several years later - led an alumnus to produce a documentary for Netflix and secure an Emmy nomination.

Stephen Robert Morse, from the 2009-2011 cohort, is a producer of the documentary Amanda Knox, focusing on the media coverage and subsequent trial of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito following the death of student Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy, in 2007. Morse is part of a team that has been nominated for an Emmy Award 2017 for the film.

The American alumnus first had the idea of investigating media reaction to Amanda Knox's trial while he was writing his Mundus Journalism thesis at City University of London. As well as being featured on Netflix the documentary is showing at several film festivals including the well known Toronto Film Festival.

Congratulations from the Mundus Journalism team for your success with this film, Stephen! To read more about Stephen Robert Morse, his background and his thoughts of being an entrepreneur and a journalist, see his alumni profile.
