Erasmus Mundus Scholarships – all students can apply (n.b. only available if applied for by the January deadline!)
The Mundus Journalism Consortium is able to offer a limited number of ‘Erasmus Mundus’ student scholarships for students entering the programme from 2012 – 2016. The scholarships are divided into category A and B scholarships. For the 2012-14 edition of the Mundus Journalism programme the consortium will award:
Category A scholarships of up to 48,000 Euros for the 2-year programme
Category A scholarships can be granted to citizens and/or residents from any country other than the 27 EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway provided that you are not currently a resident of these eligible countries (above), nor have carried out your main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries.
Category B Scholarships up to 23,000 Euros for the 2-year programme
Category B scholarships for citizens and/or residents from the 27 EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway, as well as to students who do not meet the Category A criteria as defined above.
General EU rules for Erasmus Mundus Scholarships
Students fulfilling the eligibility criteria for both Category A and B (e.g. students with a double nationality) must select the Category of their choice. As a result, they are entitled to apply only to one of the two categories of scholarship at a time;
Students must have obtained a first higher education degree before the course start of the Mundus Journalism;
Individuals who have already benefited from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship are not eligible for a second scholarship for another Erasmus Mundus programme;
Students benefitting from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship cannot benefit from another Community grant while pursuing their Erasmus Mundus master’s studies.
